If your child is doing poor in school, chances are you want to do everything you can to help him or her. Whether you’ve seen a tutor, helped them with their homework or asked them countless questions, you’ve probably done the best you can to help out your child who’s in need. If you want to really help him out, though, consider making flashcards for all of his subjects to help him not only learn the material but really understand it too. To look at some literature on flashcards, check out Wikipedia.
Inkjet printers are great for many reasons, but why not use it for something really great like helping your child understand his school subjects better? All you need is some paper specifically for business cards, although pretty much any paper will work. Try creating the flashcards on a color of paper your child really enjoys. Make them bright, so they grab his attention. A fun color like neon green may make him more interested in the cards than tan.
Now, figure out the material you need on the cards. You could even color code a stack of cards based on the subject. If you are doing science flashcards, you could put information from his school science book that he has to answer correctly each week before his tests. Is your son bad at spelling? You could give him flashcards that have a synonm for the word, then when he answers, he can flip it over to see the correct spelling. You could also do grammar flashcards that ask questions about where the comma should go in the sentence or what ending punctuation mark should be attatched to the sentence.
Obviously it’s a good idea to make math flashcards too. All you need is some great ideas, a little time and an inkjet printer to get your child one step closer to success.
